Quantum battery upends the rules of charging

CSIRO researchers built the world's first working quantum battery prototype, which charges faster as it grows via superabsorption. The optical microcavity design works at room temperature and extracted an electrical current, though it stores only a few billion electron volts for nanoseconds.
