Z.ai tops AI rankings with Huawei-trained GLM-5.2

Beijing-based Z.ai released GLM-5.2, an open-weight model trained on Huawei Ascend chips, under a permissive MIT license. Within a week, it topped openly available leaderboards, surpassing Fable 5 on Design Arena's coding board by roughly 10 Elo points. Z.ai's market value passed HK$1 trillion.
