OpenAI, Anthropic Launch Cheaper AI Models

OpenAI and Anthropic released cheaper AI models on Tuesday. OpenAI's GPT-6 Sol and Luna cut API prices 50% versus GPT-5.6, with Sol at $2 input and $10 output per million tokens. Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 costs 40% less to run than Opus 5, at $4 input and $20 output. Both face pressure from cheaper open-weight rivals.
