AMD to Acquire World Labs for $8.2B

AMD agreed on Monday to acquire Fei-Fei Li's World Labs for about $8.2 billion in stock, its second-largest purchase after Xilinx. Li becomes chief scientist and executive vice president reporting to CEO Lisa Su. The San Francisco spatial intelligence lab stays separate until the deal closes later this year pending regulatory approval, strengthening AMD's AI chip ecosystem against Nvidia.
