Apple Pay Launches in India With Axis Bank Only

Apple Pay has launched in India after more than a decade of regulatory delays, but it only supports Visa and MasterCard credit cards from Axis Bank. Other major banks like HDFC and the state-backed RuPay network are excluded while Apple negotiates a 0.2 percent per-transaction fee. Millions of merchants accept it at launch.
