Microsoft is working on a patch for ShieldBreak, a Defender zero-day privilege escalation flaw tracked as CVE-2026-69414. Researcher Nightmare Eclipse disclosed it after August 2026 Patch Tuesday. The exploit bypasses the RoguePlanet patch and grants SYSTEM privileges on fully patched Windows 11, Windows 10, and Windows Server systems.
