Rising fossil fuel prices have made UK EVs up to nine times cheaper to drive than petrol or diesel cars, Carbon Brief analysis finds. Diesel hit £1.96 a litre and petrol £1.72, pushing per-mile costs to 21p and 20.1p, versus 2.3p for off-peak home charging. EV drivers could save £1,200 a year.
