A June study in BMC Psychology by Kağan Kırcaburun found that narcissism is the strongest predictor of problematic generative AI use among 677 adults. Vertical individualism and intolerance of uncertainty mediated the effect. The findings suggest chatbots feed existing personality traits by providing constant admiration and instant certainty.
