UNECE adopts regulatory framework for fully autonomous vehicles

The UNECE adopted the first internationally harmonized legal framework for fully autonomous vehicles. The regulation defines uniform safety requirements for automated driving systems at SAE Level 4 or above. It requires manufacturers to implement a Safety Management System, submit a Safety Case, and equip vehicles with data storage for event recording. The framework takes effect in approximately one month.
