Plane battery fire tests back 100 Wh limit

The LOKI-PED project, a collaboration between Fraunhofer EMI, Fraunhofer IBP, and Airbus, conducted the first scientifically substantiated risk assessment of lithium-ion battery fires in aircraft cabins. The tests support the current 100 Wh limit for carry-on personal electronic devices.
