
French startup Tissium developed a liquid biopolymer made of fatty acid and glycerol that attaches to tissue when exposed to light, acting as a splint for severed peripheral nerves. In a US trial with 12 patients who had finger nerve injuries, all 12 regained sensation, with no pain or complications after a year. The treatment is now available for surgeons to purchase in the US.
