Sweden Fines Miljödata $183,000 Over Breach

Sweden's IMY fined Miljödata SEK 1.8 million ($183,000) for GDPR security failures that let attackers breach its systems in August 2025, exposing data of 2.2 million people. The company, whose HR software serves 80% of Swedish municipalities, lacked real-time intrusion monitoring. IMY is also investigating two municipalities and one region, so more penalties may follow.
