Cloudflare has opened a beta of Pay Per Use, letting publishers charge AI companies when their content is actually used in answers, reports or recommendations. Buyers set a price and report each use via one API; Cloudflare bills them and pays publishers monthly. It follows Pay Per Crawl, launched in 2025, which charges for access rather than downstream use.
