AMD commits £2B to UK AI with photonic network

AMD committed up to £2 billion over five years to UK AI innovation, announced at London Tech Week. The company is deploying the world's first large-scale AI system powered by a pure photonic network with London startup Oriole Networks. The system pairs Oriole's PRISM platform with AMD Instinct GPUs and EPYC CPUs, removing electronic switches from the network core.
