DigitalOcean introduced MicroVMs in private preview, isolated Firecracker-based VMs that pause when idle and resume with memory and files intact. They power DigitalOcean Managed Agents, used by OpenHands, Qencode, and Amplitude. Teams can run container images per session with hardware isolation, paying only for active compute. Access is invite-only.
