Google to Launch TPUs Into Orbit

Google will send Trillium tensor processing units into orbit on a SpaceX Falcon 9 on October 1 as part of Project Suncatcher, a proof of concept with Planet. The chips must survive 50 to 100 gravities, cosmic radiation and vacuum cooling. Google claims orbital solar panels can collect eight times more power than on the ground.
