Git 2.56.0 Adds Branch Cleanup, Replay

Git 2.56.0 ships with a new git-history drop subcommand, git-branch flags to delete merged branches, and git-refs subcommands to create, delete, update and rename refs. The release also finalizes a plan to jump from 2.56 to 2.98, then ship 2.99 and 3.0 together, with SHA-256 and reftable as defaults.
