Cognex agreed to acquire RealSense, the Intel robotics spin-off, for about $600 million, paying roughly $500 million in cash plus $106.5 million in employee retention and stock. RealSense expects $80 million to $90 million in sales this year and has turned profitable for two quarters. The deal, closing in the fourth quarter pending regulatory clearance, excludes RealSense's facial authentication unit.
