Windows GDID helps catch Scattered Spider suspect

Microsoft's Windows Global Device Identifier (GDID) helped the US Justice Department arrest Peter Stokes for alleged involvement in the Scattered Spider hacking group. The GDID linked Stokes to a ngrok account and Tzulo VPN usage, connecting him to over $100 million in ransom payments from more than 100 corporate networks.
