EU to Classify AWS and Azure as Gatekeepers

The European Commission will provisionally classify AWS and Microsoft Azure as gatekeepers under the Digital Markets Act, applying stricter competition rules to cloud infrastructure for the first time. The designation requires greater interoperability and data portability, with a final decision expected by the end of 2026.
