NASA tests faster rover with lifting wheels

NASA tested the Ernest prototype rover in the Colorado Desert, achieving a top speed of about 0.6 mph and covering roughly 16 miles over seven days. Ernest can individually lift its wheels to climb obstacles, using active suspension for greater mobility on steep terrain. The design could inform future missions on Mars or the moon.
