All EU countries except Malta exceeded public EV charging capacity minimums as of March 2026, based on the number of battery EVs per country. The bloc had 1.1 million public chargers by end of 2025, five times more than in 2020. Overall capacity surpassed the fleet-based target by 180 percent.
