Anthropic finally, officially launches Claude Sonnet 5

Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 5 on June 30, 2026, its most agentic mid-tier model yet. It runs close to flagship Opus 4.8 on reasoning, coding, and tool use, but costs less than half. Sonnet 5 starts at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with an introductory rate through August 31, 2026.
