Google's Nuvem cable links Portugal to US

Google connected Nuvem, a transatlantic subsea cable between Portugal and the United States. The system runs 16 fibre pairs at roughly 24Tbps each for a total design capacity of about 384Tbps across nearly 6,900km. SubCom built and laid the cable, which Google owns through subsidiary Starfish Infrastructure. The Myrtle Beach landing arrived in May 2026, with full service expected in the second half of the year.
