Shield AI and GE Aerospace completed engine light-off testing of the X-BAT, an AI-piloted strike aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing capability. The test integrated a refurbished Axisymmetric Vectoring Exhaust Nozzle (AVEN) into GE's F110-GE-129E engine at a site in Peebles, Ohio. Flight testing is planned for later this year.
