Kiel University researchers developed a communication system that transmits sensor data from inside a battery cell through existing power connections, eliminating additional data cables. The method could reduce battery management system costs by around 35 percent. The system supports temperature sensors and could extend to pressure or gas sensors for electric vehicles and energy storage.
