Waymo ends Uber robotaxi exclusivity in 2028

Waymo co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana states the Uber partnership was a crapshoot for riders. Waymo will launch its own app in Austin and Atlanta by January 2028. Uber expects 2,000 robotaxis by 2027, while Waymo plans to grow its fleet fivefold. Uber reported 30% more trips per vehicle for partners.
