A malicious Chrome extension named "Search for perplexity ai" posed as Perplexity AI, routing all address-bar queries and typed characters through an attacker-controlled server before redirecting to real results. Microsoft found the extension logged browser headers, IP addresses, and user agents. Google removed it from the store after disclosure.
