China AI Agents Could Hit 197 Million by 2030

China had 4.95 million active AI agents in 2026, a figure projected to reach 197 million by 2030, a 151.2% compound annual growth rate, according to the 2026 China Artificial Intelligence Computing Power Development Assessment Report released Sept. 21. Globally, active agents are expected to rise from 79.4 million to 2.216 billion as AI shifts from content generation to multi-step task execution.
