NHTSA Probes Comma Self-Driving Device After Three Deaths

NHTSA opened a preliminary evaluation into Comma's aftermarket driver-assistance devices after five crashes involving stopped or slow-moving vehicles. The incidents caused 14 injuries and three deaths. The agency will analyze data to assess system performance and safeguards. Comma's system supports over 325 models from 27 brands and is used by more than 30,000 U.S. drivers.
