Apple's A12 and A13 Chips Facing New Unpatchable Exploit

Security research firm Paradigm Shift published a new BootROM vulnerability and proof-of-concept exploit named "usbliter8" affecting Apple's A12 and A13 chips. The bug resides in immutable SecureROM code, making it unpatchable via software updates. Affected devices include those with A12, S4/S5, and A13 SoCs, with A12X/Z support possible but not yet implemented.
