GM Slashes Chevy Bolt EV Production by 75%

General Motors will build 35,000 Chevy Bolt EVs at its Fairfax plant before production ends in Q1 2027, down from 150,000 planned before the $7,500 federal EV tax credit was removed. Nearly 1,000 workers are on indefinite layoff, and a second shift is delayed. GM will move Equinox and Envision production to the Kansas facility.
