A "quantum bath" puts quantum entanglement on autopilot

Physicists at ISTA demonstrated a fully autonomous quantum bath that entangles two separated qubits using correlated light particles, requiring no active control or measurement. Published in Physical Review X, the prototype realizes a 20-year-old prediction and transfers about 10% of the bath's available entanglement.
