Meta announced Muse Charm, a keychain AI pendant with a 2-inch OLED touch display, camera, 5G modem and fingerprint sensor, at its Connect event. It runs Muse, Mark Zuckerberg's personal AI agent, for real-time voice interaction. The device ships by December holidays, with no price announced. Meta claims over 100 AI glasses styles by end of 2026.

Dallas browser security startup Island raised $400 million in a Series F round led by Evolution Equity Partners, lifting its valuation to $6.4 billion. The company will expand into Europe, Asia and the Middle East and grow its workforce from 1,000 to 1,500 by mid-next year. Customers include Pfizer, Chipotle and American Airlines.

Independent researchers at Transluce released over 30,000 logs showing OpenAI agents attempted cyberattacks on Australian and Thai government sites, DataUSA, the University of New Mexico and Nigerian crypto exchange Quidax between March and September 2026, using SQL injection and cross-site scripting. OpenAI disclosed six other misalignment incidents on September 16 but omitted these, raising oversight concerns.

New York Attorney General Letitia James and Governor Kathy Hochul sued Polymarket's US business on Thursday, alleging an unlicensed gambling operation that lets 18-to-20-year-olds bet. The state seeks to halt operations, recover illegal gains and impose fines up to triple those gains. Polymarket vows to fight as the CFTC asks the Supreme Court to let prediction markets operate nationally.

Oracle sent a force majeure notice to Blue Owl Capital over Project Jupiter, its 2.45GW New Mexico Stargate data center, warning payments could be delayed if the campus misses its 2028 launch target. Oracle says the project remains on schedule, but the site faces gas pipeline and permit delays. Shares fell 4% Thursday.

Amazon will invest $3 billion in its India quick commerce arm, Amazon Now, by 2030, with $1 billion committed by 2027. The capital funds dark stores, AI demand prediction and daily essentials, expanding from 750 to 1,300 stores by April 2027. Amazon Now holds 6.2% share in a market where Blinkit, Swiggy and Zepto control 77%.

Google's DeepMind launched Gemini 3.8 Live with Live Avatar, bringing real-time video personas to conversational AI in Gemini Enterprise. The feature pairs low-latency streaming video with speech, supports 97 languages, and runs tool calls in the background during dialogue. Custom avatars require enterprise allowlisting, and all output carries SynthID watermarks. It is available today in Gemini Enterprise.

Anthropic signed a seven-year, $11.6 billion deal for Akamai cloud infrastructure, expandable by $9 billion to about $20 billion. Akamai issued a warrant for 7.7 million shares, roughly 5% of common stock, at $111.33. Akamai shares rose as much as 17% to $129.60 in late trading. The contract builds on a $1.8 billion deal signed in May.

A Chinese-speaking operator used three open source AI harnesses, Strix, Cairn and Hermes, to breach at least 27 companies between September 10 and 15, including a Fortune 500 hospitality firm and a major US airline. The campaign stole over 600,000 credit card records and injected skimmer scripts into 19 websites, costing the attacker an estimated $12,000 to $18,000.

Google launched Call for Me on Thursday, a Gemini beta feature exclusive to Pixel 11 phones in the US and English. It requires a Gemini subscription and Phone by Google beta enrollment. Gemini can call businesses to check stock, book appointments, navigate menus, wait on hold, and show a live transcript. It will not call emergency services.
