Unpatchable iPhone exploit targets Apple chips

Security researchers at Paradigm Shift published usbliter8, the first iPhone bootROM exploit in six years. The exploit targets a hardware-level flaw in chips still running Apple's latest iOS. Upgrading to newer hardware is the only fix, as Apple cannot patch the vulnerability with a software update.
